For nearly two decades, Patrick has represented both men and women and their spouses in divorce, custody, and paternity cases. They work in many industries, including entertainment, finance, professional sports, and professionals such as accountants, lawyers, doctors, and technology. These include complex financial, marital dissolutions, relocation, high-conflict child custody litigation, and violations of fiduciary duty between spouses.
In 2014, Patrick became one of the youngest California State Bar-certified family law specialists. California State Bar certification in family law requires a lawyer to have accomplished specific requirements, including, but not limited to:
- Long cause trial experience.
- Mediation experience.
- Recommendations from judges and lawyers.
- Completion of a day-long examination, similar to the bar exam.
Since taking on the role of a family law practitioner, Patrick has been sensitive to his many clients’ concerns for confidentiality. He works discreetly to achieve favorable outcomes and promote her clients’ rights.
Patrick’s nearly 20 years of practice include family law cases throughout California. During this period, he has appeared in almost all central counties of the state, including, but not limited to, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Riverside, Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and more.
Known for his exceptional trial and courtroom skills and passionate advocacy, Patrick has gained national notoriety for his advocacy. He has been featured in local and national media regarding family law issues. He has expressed his expert opinion in the Los Angeles Times, CNN, the Balancing Act television show hosted by Montell Williams, and other media outlets.
Patrick’s experience as a child of immigrants who barely spoke English has made him a champion for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
2019 Patrick founded Baghdaserians Law Group with his long-time friend and colleague, Daniel Leonnetti. Since its opening, the firm has expanded quickly. Clients have come from all walks of life. The firm serves all sides of the spectrum of family law.
Having worked for almost two decades as an attorney, Patrick looks forward to continuing to serve his clients and the community for many years to come. “I love advocacy, going to court, and protecting my clients,” Baghdaserians says. “I love advocating for people who can’t advocate for themselves. That’s a lawyer’s role—whether in family law, personal injury law, or criminal law, it doesn’t matter. We are advocates. Advocacy is what drew me to a career in the legal industry; it drew me to family law; it’s the reason I love what I do.”
Patrick attended St. Francis High School in the La Canada Flintridge area. He then attended Loyola Marymount University and earned his law degree from Southwestern Law School. While in law school, Patrick had the distinct honor of working as a full-time legal extern for a renowned Federal Judge, the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi. While serving the federal court, he was privileged to be involved in and witness dozens of federal trials and hearings.
Lastly, philanthropy has always been a significant part of Patrick’s life. Throughout his career, he has strived to help victims of domestic violence through the Southwestern Law School Domestic Violence Advocacy Initiative, a program he helped create. Patrick continues to donate all proceeds collected from his legal consultation to various charitable organizations, including, but not limited to, the American University of Armenia and the Armenian Educational Foundation.
